Potential once in a lifetime thing

Okay...one of my friends pointed me towards a website about a guy in Florence who is for lack of a better phrase the fragrance designer to te stars. He does personal appointments where you can get your own personal fragrance made...the only down side is that at a minimum it costs 500 bucks (and that's not euros). I'm tempted to do but I'm questioning more whether or not it's kinda cool or kinda dumb...I mean it's not cheap for sure but it could be kinda cool....

Thoughts?

And on a P.S. thing, I decided to stay at the B&B that could host me for all four days rather than go to one place for a day adn then to the other for three days. It's the same price and I don't have to move around so I like that....

UPDATE: I've decided not to do it because based on the most recent info I have found on the web (and to show you how "recent" it is, it's from 2003, the bottle of perfum woudl cost a minimum of $700 now and not $500....I think I'm gonna pass....I can get several pairs of shoes or some nice leather for that much money....

Ugh....I hate making decisions....

Okay....so as I said in an earlier post (now that I have calmed down from this morning's hysterics), I have screwed up ever so slightly on my bed and breakfast stays for my trip to Italy. There was a minor misjudgment in when my hiking tour ended and I am left without accomodations for one day.

Now, I could stay here in the Brunelleschi Room for 80 euro a night and it's somewhat near the train station. Maybe a 15 minute walk. This would be good for the days that I plan on heading out to Siena and Pisa since I don't know when I will be returning. On the bad side, it looks like an IKEA showroom.

My other option is that I spend one night here in their PINK room at 90 euro a night and then I move over to my normal establishment for the next three days here in the Thomas room (or at least that's the room that I have requested) at 80 euro a night.

The third option (if it comes through) is that I just stay in the Pink Room the entire time at 90 euro a night.

The views in the first one are magnificent if not breathtaking. The Pink Room offers its own private terrace which overlooks the roofs of Florence. The Thomas room has some great decor, exposed beam ceiling, and a second story sleeping loft. All of them have breakfast and a private bath with shower. It's a tough call people.

Thoughts?

Warpath Venting

No one had better fucking piss me off today.

I am not in the mood to deal with people being fucking morons anymore.

Use a fucking bit of common sense for once in your fucking lives people and don't get wound up in the small shit.

Just because you THINK you know how something should be doesn't mean that's how it's going to be and you need to GET. THE. FUCK. OVER. IT. NOW.

If you don't know what you're talking about or have no experience in that area, don't try to tell me that I'm doing something wrong just because you don't fucking like it.

*PRIMAL SCREAM*

You would think that I would feel better after that.

I don't.

SOCKS!!!

So the first round of the socks that I paid $50 for (and still can't believe that I paid that much just for SOCKS!) have arrived and I must say that they are VERY soft.

The sole of the socks are slightly padded to allow for a bit more comfort and help keep blisters from appearing on my feet as well which is definitely a good thing. Now, as for actually wearing them, I haven't done that as of yet but I'll probably give them a try before I head off for nine days of hiking.

Speaking of which, I totally miscounted the number of days in the trip and planned my arrival back into Florence a day later than it actually will be -- so I'm currently stuck without any accomodations for one day in Florence. I'm going back to the website where I booked where I'll be staying for the rest of my time in Florence (and sadly they can't accomodate me for one day prior) and have sent out about 25 requests for prices for a one day stay before I move to my permanent digs. Some people have questioned whether or not I should just look for a place that can host me for the entire stay but considering that I like the B&B where I will ultimately be staying (and I got a good price on it) I'd rather not look for another place if I can help it.

On the good side, it does give me an extra day to plan out and not try to rush around the Italian countryside shoving everything into 2 and a half days.

Money, Money, Money...

Ugh Blech Moan

I hate being sick.

Hate it, hate it, hate it.

When I get sick...I GET SICK! There's no two ways about it. This week has been a doozy.

It started a bit on Saturday with a headache that has yet to go away. By Tuesday afternoon, it was coupled with hot flashes that would causes instant sweats, chill spells (where I would violently start shaking), and my lower back began to ache. That night I was toast. I was never so fatigued just from being sick.

I finally had to take a day off from work so I could recuperate. I hate taking sick days off from work but in this case there was no way in Hades that I could have functioned at work. In less than a day I had sweated through about four t-shirts and had no appetite that entire week. I was forcing myself to eat (and pretty much still am) since I had no appetite (and pretty much still don't). My temperature was going up and down like a lunatic.

Finally on Thursday I am able to get into \the doctor's office. Having talked to my mother (a former nurse) she thinks I have a kidney infection, I went in armed with that information. My doctor wondered if it was a respiratory infection and gave me a one dose antibiotic to take. I haven't felt results as of yet but we shall see. After seeing the doc, I talked to Shelly, the rugby team's trainer and a paramedic, and she thinks I have a urinary tract infection. All I know is that if I am not feeling better by the middle of next week it's back to the doctor. I am not going to miss my vacation next month because of this.

So here I am today....on Saturday....really not feeling like wanting to do much of anything but lay in bed. The headache is here. The fever is here. The back ache is here.

Oh yeah. It's happy time here. Maybe when I feel better I'll tell you about the guy I had a date with last week.

Totally stunned

Forgive me for being totally shocked by this but I just learned that Peter Jennings died.

I mean...for me, I guess, this is a big wow moment for me. For years I had only known Brokaw, Rather, and Jennings as my anchors. Now all three are gone in the span of a year. It somewhat makes me wonder what the next generation of newscasters we have in store for us...

No better way.....

Making out with a guy in a pool on a Saturday night and not really caring that your fingers are turning into prunes....now that's my kind of a night....
